Dimensional control
High precision in an industrial environment

Dimensional control solutions enable highly accurate measurement in demanding industrial environments. They integrate a multi-disciplinary approach (mechanical, optical, electronic) and user-friendly software. These controls can be combined with visual inspection and testing.

Automated optical inspection ensures the quality of manufactured parts while optimizing production costs. This inspection can be performed by sampling or 100% with an inspection station integrated into an automated process.

Each project begins with understanding the client's technical and organizational needs. Based on this understanding, we define the optimal solution, incorporating the necessary customizations to meet specific requirements. This approach ensures that we perfectly meet the client's expectations with a solution based on a proven standard. This customization can even extend to creating a product dedicated to a single client.

Agility, reliability and pursuit of excellence
We contribute to our clients' development for lasting prosperity

Through vision, through hearing, through automated solutions integrating artificial intelligence, qmt limits the number of imperfections in what will or can be manufactured.

About qmt
An experienced team
A team deployed across our two sites in Geneva and Chambéry

With our extensive know-how, we build a reliable partnership with our clients to develop solutions and support their success by improving quality and efficiency.

The qmt team
Over 35 years of experience
We will never achieve perfection, but we work towards it every day.

qmt developed the Multimicro in 1991 (motorized image analyzer with automatic microhardness measurement), which was awarded a Credit Suisse prize. In 2015, qmt won the Geneva Canton Innovation Prize.

Historical
High-precision optical measurement for microtechnology
High cadence and contactless
In the specific field of microtechnology, tolerances can be extremely tight, requiring meticulous attention to measurement. We offer optical devices that guarantee the quality of manufactured parts while optimizing production costs. These solutions can be implemented with sampling devices or as integrated inspection stations, for 100% in-production inspection.
We also offer solutions for measuring complex geometries and dynamic measurement, which integrate mechatronic systems and dedicated algorithms.
Demanding industrial environment
The measurement solution must be reliable and robust
QMT solutions can be integrated into the customer's production processes by taking into account mechanical, electrical and IT constraints.
We prioritize optical measurements but have the expertise to add multi-physics measurements to complete the system. These measurements can also be combined with visual inspection .
We adapt to production cycles so that control does not impair productivity and the results can be used for preventive quality optimization (closed loop).

The importance of posing for low-cut garments
To accurately measure a machined part, it is necessary to position it so that its axis is perfectly perpendicular to the optical axis. This is generally done by placing the part on two blades and offsetting the height of one of the blades; this operation is time-consuming and carries a risk of measurement error.
To facilitate this operation, the qmtvline mounting system was developed. It consists of two flat, transparent supports that create a specific angle between them, allowing the workpiece to naturally tilt due to gravity. The optical path of the light emitted by the source is modified so that the image seen by the camera is no longer from above but from the side, thus ensuring that the measured dimensions correspond to reality. It is therefore no longer necessary to precisely position the workpiece along its axis of rotation, and thus eliminates the need for straightening.

Dynamic measurement for heartbeat measurement
Full-field optical devices allow for rapid, precise, and contactless inspection of all part characteristics. Dimensions can be measured with sub-micron accuracy in less than one second.
Certain characteristics, such as runout and parting, require dynamic measurement with part rotation. These can be measured on the same equipment using the specific wheeltest setup and the qmtwheeltest-vision software function.

Poppe + Potthoff entrusted qmt and Techplus with the design and implementation of an automated inspection cell for engine parts requiring perfect geometry, optimal cleanliness, and a chip-free environment. Techplus and qmt proposed a cell equipped with three robots and four machine vision stations to ensure the inspection of parts from four different part numbers as soon as they exit the washing machine.

Based on QMT Projector technology, QMT developed an automated inspection system for Pernat Emile, a company specializing in bar turning. The system's objective is to control the dimensions and ensure the absence of chips and burrs on 75mm long turned parts.
The qmtsubface control functions are dedicated to this type of application; they integrate Artificial Intelligence to have a learning capacity.
